Trade
The Craft Resource Centre’s Trade Facilitation Service works to forge and facilitate creative partnerships between the artisan community and a global community of businesses engaged in promoting, marketing, and selling of handcrafted products made with traditional skills. It also works to enable artisans to develop a strong market and business orientation.
The Trade Facilitation Service blends craft with commerce. Our work aims to empower, redefine, and enrich Kachchh’s craft traditions while ensuring improved livelihoods and incomes for local artisans.
KHAMIR’s trade facilitation benchmarks standards for quality, costing, pricing, and traditional craft authenticity. It promotes and brands Kachchh crafts through exhibitions, partnerships with retailers, re-sellers, boutiques, and fair trade initiatives. KHAMIR is committed to maintaining fair trade practices and high quality.

Beyond Trade
KHAMIR’s Trade Facilitation Service works beyond trade. It provides a common platform where artisans and businesses with a commitment to craft can exchange knowledge, work together to build business and technical capacities, and ensure the best manifestation of regional art and craft. Trade is just one way that KHAMIR works to address the technological, market-based, ecological, socio-economic, and cultural issues that challenge the sustainability of Kachchh’s creative industries.
