KHAMIR Craft Resource Centre

KHAMIR’s first initiative is the KHAMIR- Craft Resource Centre (CRC) which aims to impact the craft-dependent livelihoods of the region.  In this drought prone region, craft is a way of life, a creative industry, and a key to sustainable rural livelihoods.

“Facilitates artisans’ access to the services they need to revitalize and reposition the craft industry”

KHAMIR CRC’s interventions identify and address the prioritized needs of Kachchh’s handloom weaving, ajrakh block printing, leather craft, lac turned wood, metal bell, pottery, and silver jewelry craft sectors. CRC works with artisan micro-enterprises to strengthen and build its capacities for sustainability.

KHAMIR’s infrastructure makes it possible for artisans and experts from the field of craft practice to exchange knowledge build business and technical capacities that enrich craft traditions while ensuring improved livelihoods and incomes.
