Water Resource Manager
The predominant challenge facing block print artisans is their depleting ground water resources due to intense use of water for printing. It is important that artisans gain access technologies that they can implement to harvest, conserve, treat, and recycle water used for printing.
KHAMIR is looking for a water management professional who has experience, exposure, and qualifications related to managing ground water resources, water recycling, and water treatment technologies. Numerous studies and research are completed and available. The applicant is expected to lead KHAMIR’s initiatives to develop systems for recharging water tables in the dyeing belt, treat effluents in water used for dyeing, and introducing technologies that require less usage of water.
Applicants must have the ability to coordinate with experts and organizations in the field and lead a KHAMIR team. The job requires the applicant to be based in Bhuj for at least one year.
Creative Facilitator
A major focus among KHAMIR’s activities is sustaining a creative space at KHAMIR Craft Resource Centre’s campus. KHAMIR is looking for a Creative Facilitator to plan and develop programs, events, workshops, and interactive modules that will serve artisans from various craft sectors, designers, and regional organizations. These events are intended to increase understanding craft practice, promote dialogue about core concerns, facilitate interaction with resource persons, and offer hands-on trainings, etc.
The applicant would also be responsible for ensuring a creative environment on the KHAMIR campus, handling events, and managing cultural orientations for visitors.
The applicant should have experience in events management. A degree or qualification in the fields of design/applied arts or fine arts is preferred. The job requires the applicant to be based in Bhuj.
Consultant, 3D Crafts
KHAMIR’s works intensively with specific craft non textile and 3D crafts such as leather, bell metal/metallurgy, and lac turned wood. KHAMIR is looking for a person with experience working with similar 3D to manage, systems, develop perspectives about craft and design, train KHAMIR team members, and work closely with 3D craft artisans. The applicant should have a good knowledge of 3D crafts and should have program and team management skills. The applicant could be a qualified designer or should have had experience in the above mentioned areas. The job does not require fulltime commitment however KHAMIR will consider applicants who can work from Bhuj for a minimum of 15 days a month.
Textile Engineer/Manager
KHAMIR is currently establishing a textile quality laboratory. KHAMIR is looking for a textile engineer to manage the textile laboratory and related dyeing services. This position includes ensuring standards, correct testing procedures and management in the laboratory, maintaining dyeing formulas, and supervising the dyeing services for chemical & vegetable dyeing.
The applicant must have qualifications/experience in chemistry and preferably textile engineering. The job requires the applicant to be based in Bhuj. |
